The Coterie Transitional Living is a mission-driven social enterprise founded to provide transitional housing for single parents and young adults facing homelessness or housing insecurity. We empower residents to build independent, purpose-driven lives through life skills training, and community reintegration.
At the heart of our work is The Coterie Transitional Living, a program that offers year-long, furnished housing in Connecticut with the goal of helping individuals and families rebuild their lives in a safe, stable, and structured environment. Our two housing models—shared apartments for same-sex single-parent families and dormitory-style units for same-sex young adults—are designed to foster community, responsibility, and healing.
What makes our program unique is the integration of practical life skills and values-based financial education. Residents participate in a 12-week Faith and Finance course focused on debt management, savings, and financial planning. By combining transitional housing with essential tools for long-term independence, we aim to be more than a shelter—we serve as a launchpad for those striving to create a better future. Each living space is thoughtfully furnished to ensure every resident feels at home, secure, and respected from day one.
Our ultimate goal is to reduce homelessness one family or individual at a time through a model that is scalable, sustainable, and deeply rooted in human dignity. Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and a focus on empowerment, The Coterie is positioned to fill a critical gap in housing services and serve as a bridge between crisis and lasting self-sufficiency.
